A fast moving storm system will sweep across the area this morning, and produce bands of light to moderate snow. The snow may briefly mix with rain or light freezing rain at times. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected across most of the forecast area, with local 4 inch amounts along and just north of Highway 29. The amount of snow that accumulates on paved surfaces will be lower, but there is likely to be a slushy accumulation on most roads during the morning commute, leading to slippery travel conditions. Drivers are urged to exercise caution during the morning commute.
