Mild temperatures and very low relative humidity will result in elevated fire weather conditions this afternoon and early evening. Even though relative humidity is expected to be a bit higher on Sunday, increasing southeast winds will keep fire danger elevated across the region. Pleasant spring weather will draw more people outdoors this weekend, as will the opening of the inland fishing season. If you are planning to be outdoors, please use caution with any activities that could potentially lead to a wildland fire. Campfires, outdoor grills, smoking materials, chain saws, and all-terrain vehicles all have the potential to throw a spark and ignite a dangerous and destructive fire. Burning restrictions will likely be in effect for many areas in central and northern Wisconsin.
