President Trump said Tuesday evening that Venezuelan officials will be turning over between 30 million to 50 million barrels of oil to the United States. In a Truth Social post, Trump said the oil will be sold at its market price, "and that money will be controlled by me, as President of the United States of America, to ensure it is used to benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States!" Trump said that the oil being turned over to the U.S. was "high-quality" and would otherwise be subject to sanctions. Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world, but Chevron is the only major U.S. oil company still operating in the country after former Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez pushed to nationalize the country's oil industry. | World's First Flying Car Enters Production California-based Alef Aeronautics has begun mass production of its Model A, the world's first modern flying car that can drive on roads and take off vertically. Last year, the company released footage of the vehicle completing a test flight in San Mateo, rising from a closed roadway and flying over another car without external tethers. See the footage here. The fully electric Model A has a driving range of around 200 miles and a flight range of 110 miles, with manufacturing beginning at the company's Silicon Valley facility, where each unit will be hand-assembled over several months. Alef has received over 3,500 pre-orders valued at roughly $1 billion for the $300,000 vehicle, which has already earned FAA Special Airworthiness Certification, making it the first vehicle of its kind cleared to fly in the United States. | GOP Rep. Doug LaMalfa Dies California Republican Rep. Doug LaMalfa died unexpectedly at age 65 late Monday following a medical emergency at his home, according to his office and the Butte County Sheriff's Office. The seven-term congressman was taken to a local hospital for emergency surgery but died during the procedure, with the coroner now investigating the cause of death. LaMalfa's death cuts Speaker Mike Johnson's already slim House majority to 218-213, giving GOP leaders only a two-vote margin following Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's resignation just a day earlier.
