Play-calling maestro Sean McVay and Stafford would cook up a 14-play drive that marched 84 yards down the field and drained nearly seven and a half minutes off the game clock. The only thing it didn't do was put any points on the scoreboard.
The Rams ran three plays from Seattle's 6-yard line, with Stafford dropping back to pass on two of them. Neither Konata Mumpfield nor Terrance Ferguson could make a play in the end zone, and that was LA's season. Turnover on downs. LA would get the ball back with 25 seconds remaining, but the game was there to be won, and the Seahawks' defense did what it's done all season and stood firm.
So, was that it for Stafford? McVay was indignant when asked if Stafford would be back next season, and players and coaches never reveal their plans in those gut-wrenching moments right after falling short of the ultimate goal. But it's only fair to speculate if the Rams and their QB will reunite for another bite at the Super Bowl apple.
