Editor's note: The United States and Israel launched a joint military operation last night against Iran, striking multiple targets around 9:15 AM local time in Tehran. President Trump confirmed "major combat operations in Iran" in a video posted to Truth Social, and Israeli officials confirmed a preemptive strike. This is a developing story, and you can read the latest updates here. | | | | Trump Bans Anthropic AI After Military Dispute President Trump on Friday ordered all federal agencies to immediately stop using Anthropic's AI technology, bringing an apparent end to a months-long dispute between the Pentagon and the company over military use of its systems. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei had refused the Defense Department's demand for unrestricted use of its AI, insisting on safeguards against mass domestic surveillance and fully autonomous weapons, which the company considers firm red lines. "I am directing EVERY Federal Agency in the United States Government to IMMEDIATELY CEASE all use of Anthropic's technology. We don't need it, we don't want it, and will not do business with them again!" Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth followed by announcing Friday afternoon that the Pentagon would label Anthropic a supply chain risk to national security. The designation bans any contractor, supplier, or partner of the U.S. military from any commercial activity with Anthropic. Trump said agencies currently using Anthropic have six months to phase it out. | State Farm Sets Record $5B Payback to Customers State Farm announced it will pay a record $5 billion dividend to auto insurance customers this summer—the largest in the company's 103-year history, covering more than 49 million vehicles nationwide. Payments to consumers will average about $100 per vehicle, varying by state and premiums paid. Customers don't need to take action—they'll receive a check or email notification for digital payment, not a premium credit. The dividend stems from stronger-than-expected underwriting performance in 2025. The move follows similar payouts from competitors, including USAA's $3.8 billion and Progressive's $1 billion in dividends to Florida customers only in 2025. | NASA Pushes Back Moon Mission NASA pushed back its planned manned moon mission, dubbed Artemis, by at least a year to 2028 as it announced a major overhaul of the Artemis moon program on Friday. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said the revised plan inserts a new Artemis III mission in 2027, where astronauts will dock with commercial landers from SpaceX and/or Blue Origin in low-Earth orbit to test critical systems before attempting a landing. The restructuring follows a safety panel report warning that the original plan carried too many untested technologies and "firsts" for a single mission, recommending a more balanced risk approach. Isaacman also announced NASA is aiming for up to two lunar landing missions in 2028, with annual flights thereafter. The last time men walked on the moon was in 1972. | | | | The following stories are featured exclusively on The Flyover Podcast—a daily show that gives you the most important headlines in under 15 minutes, straight from the heart of the country. According to a breakthrough discovery by Harvard University scientists, it comes down to a hidden culprit that dries out your joints from the inside: "joint drought." When this "drought" is addressed, it not only soothes joint discomfort but makes joints feel younger and more mobile than they have in years. And doing this is surprisingly simple—just 5 seconds a day. A Boston medical doctor has helped hundreds of thousands of people beat joint drought with this approach. Thousands across the country are reporting remarkable results. Kay Gilbert from Athens, Alabama says, "I'm 73 and feel like running all over the place again. My kids say I outshop them in Walmart." This silent culprit makes simple movements like standing from a chair increasingly difficult. Unlike typical "wear and tear," joint drought happens when the lubricating fluid inside your joints literally dries up—especially after long periods of sitting still. When this fluid is depleted, every movement becomes stiff and uncomfortable. A Boston doctor has helped over 180,000 people address this root cause.
